If you have upgraded to iOS 5 and you are unable to record in SampleWiz, please update to SampleWiz v1.3. This will correct the problem.
If SampleWiz is not starting properly, try reinstalling the application. The easiest way to do this is to delete the app from your device and re-download it from the App Store. You will not be double-charged by Apple for this.
SampleWiz is a Universal iOS application. It runs on iOS 4.2 and higher on the 3rd- and 4th-generation iPod touch, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPad, and iPad 2. It does not run on the 1st- or 2nd-generation iPod touch, original iPhone, or iPhone 3G. SampleWiz requires iOS 4.2 or higher.
Bluetooth headphones are now supported in SampleWiz. To use them, activate the "Bluetooth headphones" option for SampleWiz in the Settings app.
If you find the Wizard animation or the opening music distracting, you can deactivate both of these in the options in the Settings app.
SampleWiz supports MIDI as of v1.2. If you have any problems getting MIDI working, please let us know. SampleWiz is a 16-channel polyphonic synthesizer, and it supports an adjustable bend width with independent pitch bends on all channels (good for all of you who own a Continuum).
SampleWiz does not support the original Line 6 MIDI Mobilizer. Line 6 has replaced this product with the MIDI Mobilizer II, which supports Core MIDI. Core MIDI is the MIDI technology that has long been in use on Mac OS X and was brought to iOS in iOS 4.2. SampleWiz can be used with all Core MIDI interfaces, including the iConnect MIDI, the iRig MIDI, and the Line 6 MIDI Mobilizer II. On the iPad, SampleWiz can also be used with appropriate MIDI devices through the Apple Camera Connection Kit.
The Alesis iO Dock also supports Core MIDI. We have extensively tested the iO Dock with SampleWiz, and we have found that the iO Dock corrupts MIDI messages coming from external hardware. This problem is also experienced by users of other iOS apps. If you are using the iO Dock and you are experiencing problems with SampleWiz, please download the firmware update (in the Docs & Downloads tab on this page).
