If I update to the lastest version will I lose my presets? (Added July 21, 2013)
I have an original iPhone, iPhone 3G, or a 1st-gen or 2nd-gen iPod touch. I just downloaded MorphWiz, and it doesn't start on my device. What can I do? First, just try starting it again. What's happening is that MorphWiz is extracting Jordan's 82 amazingly cool presets, and the operating system thinks that MorphWiz has frozen because it's taking so long to start up. In the new version, though, presets extraction happens incrementally. So, if the app times out, it just picks up where it left off when you try to start it again. Try it once or twice more, and you should be on your way to MorphWizzing. If that doesn't work, you might want to try restarting your device. To do this, hold the power button until you see the "slide to power off" control. Slide it, and the screen will go dark. Press the power button again, and the device will start to boot. If you see the Apple logo, you'll know that you've done this correctly. When your device is done rebooting, try starting MorphWiz again.
One more thing that may work is restoring your device. In iTunes, if you click on your device's name, you'll see a button that says "Restore" with a message saying, "If you are experiencing problems with your iPhone/iPod, you can restore its original settings by clicking Restore." If the other suggestions haven't worked, this is definitely worth a try.
The notes are lagging. Is there a way to eliminate this? The best way to improve performance is to reduce some of the visual features. If you go into the Settings app, there's an "Animations" setting for MorphWiz. If you change this to "Force animations off," all of the animated backgrounds will become static, and this should ease the load on the processor. For even faster performance, you can change to the plain black background (the last background selection on the display page). The ring display is more efficient than the particle and fire options for the touch display, too.
I have an iPad or an iPhone 4. The notes respond well, but I'd like to reduce the latency. Is this possible? In the Settings app, there's a setting for "Audio buffer size." Normally, MorphWiz chooses the buffer size automatically based on your device. If you want, though, you can specify a specific size. A smaller size will provide lower latency, but it increases the chance of glitches in the audio. A larger size increases latency, but it reduces the chance of glitches in the audio. If you're feeling adventurous, you can try some different options for this setting.
MorphWiz has stopped making sound on my iPad. I've checked other apps, and they still work fine. Most likely, the mute switch is on. This is the small switch on the side next to the volume rocker switch. When the original iPad was first released, this was an orientation-lock switch. Now, users have the option of making it a mute switch or an orientation lock. This setting seems to infrequently get changed automatically during some iOS updates. If this switch is showing a small red dot, it is in the mute position. Switch it to the other position, and sound should come back to MorphWiz. This problem is especially confusing because many music apps, including Apple's own iPod app, do not actually mute when the mute switch is activated.
If I update to the lastest version will I lose my presets? (Added July 21, 2013) If you have custom presets you need to continue using now, please wait to update. If you do update now, your presets will not be gone permanently, but they will not appear until we release the next update.
